Skull tree

This is a pine tree that died while still standing in the mountains, and only the sapwood had decayed, and was then felled just before the heart wood began to decay.

Looking at the decayed appearance of the tree, the thickness of the tree and its twisted shape  which is not often seen in pines, we can imagine the long time that this pine tree has lived.

The word "share" seems to come from its bone-like appearance and from "sharekoube"(skull in Japanese).
